Shandong Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL-SD) ground breaking ceremony was held. With a total investment of up to 14 billion yuan, the battery plant project of CATL-SD includes production lines for EV batteries and energy storage systems. In addition, CATL will also work with the city of Jining to jointly promote projects in various sectors such as battery manufacturing, centralized PV power generation, energy storage stations, battery swapping and shipbuilding.

Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH (CATT), CATL's first plant outside of China, has kicked off serial production of lithium-ion battery cells in December. The first batch of lithium-ion battery cells rolled off the newly installed production line under series condition in CATT's G2 building. The installation and commissioning of the remaining lines are in full swing for the production ramp-up.

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (“CATL”) and Honda Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. jointly announced that from 2024 through 2030, Honda will purchase 123 GWh of batteries for pure electric vehicles in China from CATL.
In 2020, CATL and Honda signed an agreement to form a comprehensive strategic alliance on new energy vehicle batteries, which has enabled the two companies to cooperate in a broad range of areas including joint development, stable supply, and the recycling and reuse of batteries.

CATL and BMW Group announced today a multi-year agreement on the supply of cylindrical battery cells to power the German carmaker's new series of electric models of its NEUE KLASSE starting from 2025. According to the agreement, CATL will deliver to BMW Group the new cylindrical battery cells, which come with a standard diameter of 46 millimeters and will be produced at two of CATL's future battery plants in China and Europe, each with an annual capacity of up to 20 GWh dedicated to BMW Group.
